It dates from 1552 and it’s carved out of tufa boulders which litter a wooded valley which belonged to the Duke of Bomarzo, an Italian nobleman. He built it as a memorial to his wife – and one does wonder what their relationship was like! It is in Northern Lazio, Italy. If you google Park of Monsters, Bomarzo, you can find out all about it.
